‘Rufaro’ - a Zimbabwean ‘Shona’ name, loosely translated means ‘to travel happily’ or ‘Bon Voyage.’ We are small enough to be flexible and big enough to offer a variety of travel options and services. Rufaro functions both as a destination management company and a retail travel agent.

The owner, Kitty Snyman, is widely travelled and has 25 years’ hands-on experience in the travel industry. She is joined by a team of professional, well-trained, well-travelled staff who can assist with the most challenging travel requirements.

Rufaro Destinations specialises in inbound travel arrangements to South Africa and the neighboring countries in southern Africa, East Africa and the Indian Ocean islands. 

We also offer special destination products for the discerning and adventurous individual traveller such as:’Cape Country Routes’ in South Africa; ‘Cottages to Castles’ in Italy and Croatia; self-drive holidays in Corsica, Italy, France and Croatia; barging in France; coach tours and vintage cruises in Croatia; self-drive/escorted tours in Cuba; river cruises and accommodation in the Ukraine; and bare-boat sailing and Farm-to-Farm holidays in Australia.

Rufaro organises special interest tours for groups and individuals both in Africa and internationally – specifically wine & gourmet, wildlife, educational and agricultural tours.

Rufaro Travel offers international travel arrangements for local and overseas travel. Rufaro is associated with Sure Go Travel, one of the original founding members of the Sure Travel Group of IATA retail agents. Rufaro is linked to the global Amadeus Reservation System, which enables us to use the latest travel information and technology to manage all our client’s travel services in-house.
